Kano Workshops @ The Design Museum

This October half-term holiday, we're bringing two, new, creative coding workshops to The Design Museum, in London - Created, and hosted by our very own Taylor Chustz!

Taylor has a huge range of educational experience. From running an after-school program in Boston, to teacher training in Ghana, and creating and delvering a custom curriculum for Syrian refugees in Iraq.

At Kano, Taylor's specialities include: creating engaging curriculums for eductors, developing design challenges for students, and building projects that help students and teachers alike, demystify technology, and learn to create, not just consume.

Let's go see what she has planned!

Coding Buildings for the Future

Tuesday 22 October 2019. Workshop One: 10.30 – 12.30, Workshop Two: 13.30 - 15.30

What will the living, working, and public spaces of the future look like? Join us to find out as we explore the worlds of architecture, design, and coding to make buildings for the future through digital design.

What to expect

Where will we live, work, and play in the future? Will the buildings and spaces around us be familiar, or groundbreakingly different? In this session you’ll learn about the architecture and design of the here and now, before looking to the future and creating worlds of our own in code.

Working with the team from Kano Computing, you’ll plan, sketch, and develop the buildings of the future, and create your own worlds in Minecraft!

Designed as a two part course, and open to all, the morning session focuses on designing and building one structure in Minecraft. The afternoon session takes the skills and knowledge gained in the morning, and applies them to designing and building villages, towns, and cities.
