A motorised Flappy Bird in a box

Understanding how digital blends with physical is important in understanding both technologies, so we love what Fawn Qiu has done with Flappy Bird in making a physical version of the hit iPhone game. Using three motors, a magnet sensor, and an old cardboard box, this game looks just as addictive as the original game.

“I think creating a physical game makes the playing experience more approachable. It’s no longer just one player and the phone, but people around you are also aware of the game, which invites collaboration and curiosity,” Qiu has said about her masterpiece.

What other smartphone games can you imagine being played with motors and boxes?
